Zone isolation then divides the site's reticulation into testable sections, bracketing the loss to a specific run of pipe. Acoustic correlation — measuring the leak's pressure wave from two points and computing its position — performs at its best on long, large-bore industrial runs, and hydrogen tracer gas confirms the excavation point before any concrete saw or excavator starts.
